This picture was taken last week in Salt Lake City. The address is 220 Douglas Street, SLC, UT. This is the house I lived in from ages five to ten. The house looks very much as it did forty-five years ago when my Dad, my brother Doug, my cat Snoopy, and I pulled out of the driveway on an August morning in 1966 to head to our new home in Missouri. My Mom had to stay behind to close the sale on the house. We had to leave so my Dad could start his new job as a Professor at the University of Missouri-Rolla and Doug and I would be there for the first day of school.
The next few posts will be a mini series trip down memory lane. I was surprised by the number things that were jarred to the front of my memory by just seeing this house. My daughter, Sarah, and my soon to be son-in-law, David, were most indulgent in listening to my rambling memories.
