Shoes at the Yakima Museum

This post is a quick trip back to the present and not from the Memory Lane posts.  Today  we went to visit our son and his family and our daughter in Yakima. We went to the Yakima Valley Museum. It was larger than I thought it would be and had some fun exhibits about the development of the Yakima Valley.  It had things you would expect, like an old pumper fire truck

and some things you wouldn't expect like this lovely cow horn design chair.
Even this chair was not totally unexpected since Yakima is farm/cattle/orchard country.  The exhibit that was most surprising was the "Oasis of Shoes" Exhibit.  Just so you know I am not making this up, the rest of this post will be a link to a news article and a series of pictures. Enjoy!

Are you ready for a trip to Yakima?

  1. Whoa! I am!
Here I go to Yakima and the Valley all the time and have never gone to that place. I know where it is, but didn't think it would be that interesting. You changed my mind! Thanks girl.
