Summer/Family Part Four

June was mostly a month of work and preparation.  We did take a quick trip over to Seattle to celebrate Michael's birthday and properly congratulate him and Ivy of the purchase of their home. After all buying a home is a pretty big deal and birthdays are pretty great too!
I spent the rest of the month turning Sarah's bedroom from a teenager room to a guest room.  I still wanted it to reflect Sarah a little, so I had the idea to paint the walls a neutral color (but not white) and hang lots of pictures on the walls.  I wanted it to be the "art gallery" bedroom. I went with a grey on the walls, that I am still not 100 percent was the right choice, but it works and doesn't clash with the art.  The art work is a mix of originals, some by Sarah's grandmother, one by Sarah and then prints by Monet and Van Gogh.  I also put up a poster from Sarah's wedding, but that won't be permanent.  I need to find something else the right size for the space.  I painted a natural wood bookcase black and bought a small black corner desk and night stand. The room is basic black, grey and white so the art is the highlight.  I found some bedding that I didn't like very well but it fit the theme.  Recently I found some bedding that I like much better so I will make that change. It was a fun project and though, like most anything I do, I am not completely satisfied with it, I think it turned out well enough and I enjoyed the process.  I may not be able to paint a picture, but I can paint a wall!
