Tax Day 911

I took my taxes into the Post Office today. It may seem last minute, but we feel pretty good about not having to go the extension route. The P.O. was busy with other people not taking an extension, which I expected. I was unhappily surprised by a small group of people that had set up shop on the curb. They had a table with anti-Obama literature and posters with the infamous Obama with a Hitler mustache. I really hate that poster. I think it is so disrespectful. I know it is just a tactic to stir up strong emotion, but comparing him to Hitler is not only ridiculous but ignorant. I don't know what this group was for but it was clear they were pretty much against everything except free speech. They were not republicans or even Tea Party, maybe Libertarian it was hard to tell.
When they asked me if I would sign a petition to impeach the President, I told them no and then said I thought the poster was inappropriate no matter what their philosophy. I may have had a tone in my voice, but I was respectful.  At this, a thirty something woman in a tank top and sunglasses responded with "well why don't you just go pee on the Constitution then." Nice. Such a well thought out argument.
After I had my taxes posted I came home and called the city police. I asked them to check and make sure that this lovely group had all their permits in order and I asked them to relocate them to a spot where they were not blocking off a parking spot (which they were) in front of the Post Office on one of the busiest mailing days. I didn't go back later to see if anything came of my complaint, but I hope so. I am not against free speech, but I see nothing wrong with using the law to slow down idiot speech.
As a side note, I didn't call 911. I just called the non-emergency number. That just doesn't make for an interesting title.
On another matter. I am watching my grandkids for a few days. My daughter-in-law's grandmother passed away and she wanted to go to the funeral. I hope it all goes well for her.  I am enjoying the kids.
Alex taking his beauty rest.
Natalie proving that big girls don't take naps. They just lie down on the floor and look tired.
