One Thing Leads to Another

Natalie decided to pet a bee today which led to lots of screaming and crying which led to snuggling up with Grandpa, a bag of ice and the cartoon network. This in turn led to Popeye which led down memory lane to the internet, which led to The kids in the Shoe.  It is unfortunate for Natalie that a bee sting set it all in motion, but I enjoyed looking at some cartoons from the past. These are from the 1930's and 1940's so they even pre-date my childhood cartoon days.
The first one is The kids in the Shoe.  A few highlights to look for:  the music (don't get bored and stop before the music), the cat, the toothbrushing scene.

The Next one is Popeye, Me Musical Nephews. Highlights: some great jazz music, Peepeye, Poopeye, Pipeye, and Pupeye, babies with sailor tattoos,  the toothbrushing scene (look familiar?), chain smoking in bed, sleeping with a gun, stomping glass bulbs with bare feet, and so much more.

By the end of the day, the bee stung finger was well enough for Grandma to allow piano playing round here.

  1. Craig and I have started randomly saying "Don't pat a bee on the bum!" It's a good answer for pretty much any question... "What do you want to do today?" or anything that starts with "Do you think I should ..."
