Boxed In

Today I made oatmeal for breakfast. It was extra wonderful with fresh apple pieces and dried cranberries .I used the last of the oats and had a terrible time throwing away the box. Those "you can make a drum out of this" Quaker Oats boxes really speak to me.

In fact, I have some sort of addition to card board boxes in general.  I am not, repeat NOT a hoarder but I have a closet full of boxes.  Some are large, some are small. (The small ones fit nicely in the large ones) Some are decorative and quite a few say Amazon on the side. I like knowing that when I need a box, chances are pretty high that I have just the right one.  Still, when the closet gets full, I weed them out. Thank goodness I can recycle them because otherwise I might feel compelled to start a second closet.

Even though I really wanted to save the oat box today, I cut off the plastic ring on the top and put the rest of it in the recycle box, which by the way, is also a cardboard box. I have seen some pretty cute recycling containers made of plastic, but I just can't get past the irony.

Now for your listening and viewing pleasure...I came across this video of Linsey Pollack. He makes unusual musical instruments. I think a oat box drum would fit right in.
